How would you like to go on adventure involving the new 2012 Ford Explorer? Several New Jersey pastors recently found out what it would be like when they were invited to take the trip of a lifetime due to pastor Russell Sterger's simple internet search for a new Ford.
Sterger, an associate pastor, came upon a question on the Ford website that asked him, "If you had a Ford Explorer for a week, what would you do and where would you go?"1 Sterger answered that he would take his pastor friends on an expedition to Alaska- on a mere whim; he didn't think anything would come of the "Go. Do. Adventures." contest. Sterger got a big surprise when he learned he would, in fact, be going on an adventure. Because the weather in Alaska was bad at the time, however, Ford chose to send Sterger and his friends on a 5-day trip to the Grand Canyon instead.
A film crew of 30 people, including Ford and Outside Television reps, also joined Sterger and his friends on the trip. Kirsten Gum, host of "Treasure Hunter" on the Travel Channel, was also invited. She told the pastors their adventure would be documented on television, especially because of the real treasure hiddenin the Canyon (and reachable only with the 4WD Explorer), a prize of $5k for the charity of their choice. The men were forced to keep silent about their involvement, as there were two teams competing in a 2-mile mountain bike ride, a 1.5 mile hike, and a 7-mile kayak trip to win (both of which didn't know the other was participating until the two separate Grand Canyon trips). The winning team donated the money to the Salvation Army. Sterger wishes he could have kept his new Ford Explorer, since he's still looking for a new car.
Sterger went on the trip of his dreams, but he still doesn't have the new Ford he's been dreaming of. Why follow in his footsteps? At Faricy Ford we have a variety of Ford models from which to choose. Located at 2501 Fremont Drive Canon City, Co 81212 we're easy to find.
