Classic Ford Sports Car Tours the U.S.

If you've gotten the chance to attend any of the international auto shows that have taken place in the United States so far this season, you've probably seen the 1934 Ford Model 40 Special Speedster. This unique antique sports car has been on display everywhere from the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance show last August, to the Detroit Auto Show this past January, to the more recent New York International Auto Show, and it's drawn admirers in every time.

Freddie Ford Robot is Back!

Who is Freddie Ford, you may wonder? Well, he's not so much a "he" as an "it," though he certainly has some very human-like features. Freddie Ford is a robot created by American automaker Ford that first made an appearance at the 1967 Texas State Fair. Recently, Ford brought Freddie back out of storage to celebrate Robotics Week and to bring attention to the installment of around 700 robots at its Louisville, Kentucky Assembly Plant. This plant will soon be producing the updated 2013 Ford Escape.

Ford Focus Electric Gets 'Build-to-Order' Status

Perhaps you've heard that the Ford Focus Electric is the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the U.S. The Electric has a starting price of $39,995 and it will be in select states (such as New Jersey, California, and New York) in April. It should be nationwide at dealers like Faricy Ford, conveniently located at 2501 Fremont Drive Canon City, Co 81212-2646 by summer or fall of this year. However, you won't see tons of Electrics on any dealership's lot. Ford is taking quite an interesting approach to this new model, as it will be "built-to-order."

American auto brand Ford has been busier than ever. What has the automaker been up to? Creating new technologies, of course, and it's doubled its engineering department over the last five years to prove it. The company is also converting more space in its engineering facilities to hold this growing team of people that are working on new fuel-saving technologies and engines.

The Fuel-Sipping 2012 Ford Fiesta SFE

Fuel efficient vehicles are quickly growing in popularity due to increasingly high fuel prices, so, of course, the subcompact segment of the market is boasting some of the largest gains. Within this segment is stationed the fuel-sipping 2012 Ford Fiesta- a small vehicle with a large personality.

Ford Faces the Future: Connected Cars

With technology add-ons for vehicles becoming more prevalent, it makes sense that these features would give us the best safety options available. This week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Ford execs like Bill Ford will make an argument for more connection between automobiles- which could help prevent crashes and eliminate traffic jams. Ford states, "If we do nothing, we face the prospect of 'global gridlock', a never-ending traffic jam that wastes time, energy and resources and even compromises the flow of commerce and healthcare."1 As more people are driving in countries like China and India, the potential for gridlocks of this sort continues to grow.

New 2013 Ford Escape Will Feature Plant-Based Materials

Following an announcement by Ford that it will use recycled plastic bottles to create seat fabrics in the soon-to-come 2013 Ford Focus Electric, the company has announced it will further embrace green initiatives in the 2013 model Ford Escape. The new Escape will feature interior door bolsters made of kenaf plant fiber material.

Ford Aims to Save Lives with Global Driving Skills for Life Program

Over the past nine years, Ford has trained over 500 thousand new drivers in its Global Driving Skills for Life Program to safely operate their vehicles in partnership with the Governors Highway Safety Association, and this year will be no different. The North American automaker will continue to save lives through its outreach program.

Ford Aims to Reduce Production Water Usage by 2015

Most people, even environmentalists, don't often consider how much water is used when making vehicles. Luckily, for those of us that do care, Ford is working on the issue. The truth is, a ton of water is used in all manufacturing processes, and the good news is, Ford has plans to decrease its per-vehicle water usage 30 percent by the year 2015, in addition to the company's already-accomplished decrease of 45 percent between 2000-2010 (and quite a bit more on a global level). That's 10.5 billion gallons of water (or 262 loads of laundry!) saved.

Ford Offers Challenge Winners the Time of Their Lives

How would you like to go on adventure involving the new 2012 Ford Explorer? Several New Jersey pastors recently found out what it would be like when they were invited to take the trip of a lifetime due to pastor Russell Sterger's simple internet search for a new Ford.
