Ford Super Duty Trucks

The Ford Super Duty sets the standard for rugged durability in the heavy-duty truck category. These trucks are designed to weather brutal work, from towing heavy equipment to hauling big payloads. They won’t let you down even when pushed to their limits. After all, the Super Duty is Built Ford Tough, and that’s not just a clever marketing slogan.

Ford offers the Super Duty in three sizes: the F-250, the F-350, and the F-450. Within the lineup, you’ll find an impressive array of best-in-class capabilities, from powerful horsepower and torque ratings to category-leading towing and payload capability. Ford makes it easy to focus your search on the Super Duty lineup, which saves you time and money.

For 2022, the Super Duty lineup gets plenty of upgrades, including an available giant 12-inch infotainment touchscreen and all-new exterior and interior colors, like the rich Atlas Blue. What hasn’t changed is the Super Duty’s impressive capabilities. It offers a max 7,850-pound payload and up to 37,000 pounds of towing capacity (gooseneck). Buyers can choose from a 6.75 or an 8-foot bed, as well as several different trims, including the base XL, the XLT, the Lariat, the King Ranch, the Platinum, and the luxurious Limited. With a starting MSRP in the mid-$30,000 range for the F-250 models, Ford makes its toughest truck affordable for fleet buyers or those seeking an affordable heavy-duty rig.

The smallest – or least enormous – Super Duty is the F-250. It comes with a standard 6.2-liter Flex Fuel V8 engine that delivers peak torque at lower RPMs for optimal capability. The engine is paired with a standard TorqShift 6-speed transmission that allows drivers to choose Tow/Haul mode and tap into Progressive Range Select to more precisely manage gear changes. Curb weight ranges from 5,677 pounds to 7,538 pounds depending on the engine and drivetrain. The F-250 is only available in a single rear-wheel (SRW) configuration, but buyers can upgrade to a more powerful gas engine or switch to a diesel engine.

The F-350 Super Duty unlocks access to a dual-rear-wheel (DRW) setup and adds significantly more capability. The same 6.2-liter V8 is standard, but the F-350 receives a 10-speed transmission with selectable drive modes. These include normal, eco, slippery, tow/haul, and deep sand/snow. Buyers can choose 4x2 or 4x4 and upgrade to a 7.3-liter gas V8 or a 6.7 liter Power Stroke turbo diesel. The F-350 pushes curb weight to a range that starts at 5,877 pounds on the low end to 8,133 pounds on the high end. Towing capacity tops off at 35,750 pounds.

The biggest beast of them all, the F-450, is your best option when only the toughest and most capable heavy-duty truck will suffice. Choose the F-450 Limited and get a hearty helping of luxury along with a standard 6.7-Liter Power Stroke Turbo Diesel V8 that makes 475 horsepower and a brutish 1,050 lb-ft of torque. On the inside, you’ll enjoy a custom blue/gray leather-appointed interior, a moonroof, and a massive 12-inch infotainment touchscreen. The F-450 has a curb weight that starts at 7,712 pounds and gets as beefy as 8,587 pounds. Max GVWR on the F-450 is 14,000 pounds.
